About the Society

The Royal Geographical Society of Queensland promotes the study of geography and encourages a greater understanding and enjoyment of the world around us. The Society was established in 1885. It is a not-for-profit organisation that brings together people from all walks of life who share an interest in geography.

This is the closest building to the XXXX Brewery on the non-city side. Office hours are generally 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. However, we have a small staff so it is always wise to check the office will be open before visiting.

The Society's last Annual Report gives a good overview of our main activities and projects. These include:

  • A programme of trips and illustrated lectures
  • Encouraging students to pursue geographical studies
