Presenter Background:

Margaret Shield trained as a secondary school teacher and spent many years teaching English, History and the Japanese language. Margaret also has a special interest in Australian colonial history and graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy from Griffith University in 2016.

In 2017/2018 she was appointed as the Postgraduate Research Fellow at Griffith University’s Harry Gentle Resource Centre to investigate the role played by the Crown Lands Commissioners who were appointed by the New South Wales government to administer pastoral districts declared in pre-Separation Queensland.


Topic Overview:

Margaret will talk about the role played by the pre separation Land Commissioners in Queensland.

Note, the presentation is an afternoon session from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
