Join the RGSQ Young Geographers and Co-Exist Brisbane for a morning of riverside rubbish collection on Clean Up Australia Day - Sunday 2nd March!
Clean Up Australia Day is an annual effort from communities across the country to do their part for their nature. By banding together to collect litter and educate the nation about the impacts of everyday waste, the Clean Up Australia Day organisation has rallied more than 22 million volunteers over 34 years of clean-ups. Our little team will be picking up waste in the rainforest gardens of the South Bank Parklands to improve our local environment and help prevent rubbish entering the Brisbane River.
We'll meet next to the Nepalese Peace Pagoda and Clem Jones Promenade (https://maps.app.goo.gl/C6PELctsdxHih3Ri8) in the South Bank Parklands, Brisbane. Lookout for the group of people with clean-up gear.
Since we'll be outdoors make sure you bring sun protection, water bottle, comfortable shoes and gloves. Our site supervisor will be Stuti Govil from Co-Exist Brisbane. If you want to learn more about the ethos and mission of Co-Exist you can do so at https://www.coexistaus.org/.
